Girls Cross Country Team Prepares for Districts and State

The Grain Valley XC team is using the Gan Creek Classic to figure out a strategy for a deep run into state this year. The girls XC team is leaning heavily towards (Sophomore) Evelynn Hay, she's been taking over the competition putting up some of the best times Grain Valley has seen in years. As a teammate she is boosting team morale, bringing her best at practices to perform well on the course.
Here’s what coach Nortan had to say about the team's plan on how to finish the season, “At the Gan’s Creek Classic, we plan to use it as a base layer for when State comes around. We're gonna take it as practice for later, and work on running the course and fixing the problems we have before State.”
The team is looking to put up their best times this week to prepare themselves for Districts and State, they plan to use (Sophomore) Evelynn Hay on the girls side as a leader at Gan’s Creek Classic because of her leadership skills and how well she's been running. Getting the team to that standard, could be very dangerous for Grain Valleys competition. On the boys side (Junior) Colby Sinn, and (Junior) Evan Geivett, both are looking to place in the top 5 to boost the morale on the boys side.
