Grain Valley Marching Eagles Claim Top Honors in Back-to-Back Competitions

The Grain Valley Marching Eagles delivered a dominant performance on September 19 at the Kansas City Championships held at Blue Springs South High School, taking home First Place Grand Champion honors.
The band posted an impressive winning score of 78.55. In addition to securing the top spot overall, the band captured awards for Outstanding Visual and Outstanding General Effect.
The victory was powered by their high-energy production, "Vegas, Baby," a dynamic show featuring popular arrangements of music by Frank Loesser, Elvis Presley, Lady Gaga, and ABBA.
The Marching Eagles stood out in the packed field, finishing ahead of prominent competitors such as Olathe Northwest, Hickman, Truman, Bellevue East, and Blue Valley West, among others.
Building on that success, the Marching Eagles kept their momentum going at the Golden Regiment Invitational Marching Festival on September 26. Competing in Open Class 1 of the Gold Show, Grain Valley swept the class by placing first and sweeping all three caption honors for Outstanding Music, Outstanding Visual, and Outstanding General Effect. In the overall standings, Grain Valley placed third with a score of 76.35, finishing behind event winner Blue Springs South (78.95) and runner-up Sioux Falls Lincoln (78.65). The band will finish their competitive season with competitions in Omaha, NE on October 17th, and the Bands of America Super Regional October 24th.
